A STORY WORTH REVISITING: VALOR | PLAZA STUDIOS, PUERTO RICO, 2010

In 2010, while pursuing my BFA in Telecommunications at Universidad del Sagrado Corazón in Puerto Rico, I had the opportunity to bring a story to life through Plaza Studios.

I served as director and screenwriter of Valor, a short film about a teacher diagnosed with breast cancer and how she faces a life-changing experience. The project received three recognitions: Best Short Film, Best Actress, and the People’s Choice Award.

In 2011, I graduated with my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Telecommunications. Looking back, Valor represents more than a film project. It is a reminder of the value of translating ideas into stories that connect with people.

My professional journey has since expanded through entertainment business, public relations, marketing, leadership, and strategic communication. Yet storytelling remains a common thread connecting these disciplines.

Today, I continue to apply storytelling through strategic communication, public relations, marketing, and leadership.

Sometimes, revisiting an earlier chapter helps us recognize that our professional identity was taking shape long before we had the words to describe it.

What project from your academic years helped shape the professional you became?

Until next time, take care and keep shining! 👋🏽✌🏽🐝

Yes, I use AI.

I believe in using the technology and tools available to me to support my creativity, organize ideas, explore possibilities, and bring concepts to life. AI is one of the tools in my toolbox—not a replacement for my experience, perspective, or voice.

Technology continues to evolve. So do we.
